The most important monograph of Polish art from the Art Deco period, published at the height of its greatest flourishing and simultaneously serving as the fundamental publication documenting the Polish Section at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. Numerous photographs show the appearance of the Polish pavilion.
One of the exhibition commissioners and the initiator of this work was the Polish art critic Jerzy Warchałowski. Polish artists also achieved success at the exhibition. Jan Szczepkowski received the Grand Prix for the Nativity chapel. Zygmunt Kamiński was awarded for designs of new Polish banknotes. Zofia Stryjeńska, called the "princess of Polish painting," earned four Grand Prix awards, as well as a special distinction and the Legion of Honor.
Numerous photographs document the works of the aforementioned winners, as well as Mehoffer's stained glass, sculptures by Stanisław Szukalski, a sculpture by Henryk Kuna, furniture, kilims, shawls, lace, batiks, luxury bookbindings, toys, ceramics, and more.
It is considered that this exhibition marked the beginning of Polish Art Deco. Warchałowski himself wrote three years later: "...there, on the banks of the Seine, we regained our artistic independence."
On pages 41-167 there are illustrations with reproductions of the most interesting examples of native decorative art.
J. Warchałowski (1874-1939) - commissioner of the Polish pavilion at the Paris exhibition, promoter of modernist art, supported young and unknown artists, already in 1913 he drew attention to the young artist Zofia Lubańska (later Stryjeńska).
