The most beautiful Polish edition of the monumental work of Sienkiewicz, appreciated by collectors for extremely effective illustrations by P. Stachiewicz, binding in the Art Nouveau style.

 
The book was bought by the curator Masao Momiyama of the Museum of Modern Art, Hayama, Japan.
Next year, the book will be shown at the exhibition "Secrets of Quo Vadis" at the Sakai Alphonse Mucha Museum ( https://mucha.sakai-bunshin.com/en-mucha/ ).

Reason for purchasing this volume?
There is a theory that Mucha created the painting in 1904. he modeled himself on the painting by Stachiewicz. In Stachiewicz's, the girl is standing on a chair, and in Mucha's, on a stool.

Mr. Momiyama collaborates with various domestic and foreign museums. Recently, for example, he advised and helped in the organization of the exhibition "BETWEEN COLLECTIVISM AND INDIVIDUALISM - JAPANESE AVANT-GARDE IN THE 1950s AND 1960s" at the Zachęta museum in Warsaw.
