Earth Ulro - a collection of essays by Czesław Miłosz, published in 1977 by the Literary Institute in Paris as volume 280 of the "Kultura" Library.
The book was written in the 1970s in California. The author talks about the foundations of his poetry and the foundations of his worldview, he asks about the meaning of the 20th century and the spiritual shape of the future that is born of it. In the introduction, Fr. Józef Sadzik wrote:
"The central structure of the book is the question: What happened to European culture in its romantic turning point, when the paths of common heritage diverged - living human truth and cold, objective laws of science".
For Miłosz, direct material for thought is provided by the works of such artists as: William Blake, Emanuel Swedenborg, Oskar Miłosz, Fiodor Dostojewski, Adam Mickiewicz, Witold Gombrowicz and Samuel Beckett. The term Ulro was taken from Blake. It signifies the land of spiritual suffering that a crippled person endures and must endure.
VERY GOOD- condition / superficial abrasions of covers
