The Law – books before 1945
Pre-war legal literature and history of legal systems
We present a carefully selected section of pre-war legal literature including books published before 1945, concerning civil, criminal, administrative, commercial, and constitutional law. These are exceptional pre-war legal books that document the development of legal systems in Poland and Europe in the 19th and first half of the 20th century.
The offer includes old legal books, commentaries on codes, academic studies, university textbooks, and collections of laws and case law. Many of them are rare legal books, often first editions of classic commentaries and publications used in administration and legal education.
Particularly valuable for collectors are copies in leather bindings, official editions, and legal incunabula, which form the foundation of legal history and are today sought after by collectors and bibliophiles.

Curiosities for lawyers and lovers of legal history
In the history of European law, key importance was held by acts that shaped the way of thinking about legal systems for subsequent generations.
One of them is the Constitution of May 3, considered one of the most important constitutional acts in the history of Poland and Europe, read about it on our blog.
The second foundation of modern civil law was the Napoleon Code of 1804, which had a huge impact on the development of European legal systems, more here.
Both these acts remain important reference points for lawyers, historians, and collectors of rare publications to this day.
