Cinnamon Shops, also known as The Street of Crocodiles, the debut collection of short stories by Bruno Schulc, dated 1934, published in December 1933. The book was published by the "Roj" Publishing House, but financed by the author himself. Schulz was helped by his protector, Zofia Nałkowska, to raise funds for the publication. Even though the debut was a success, it did not bring any financial profits to the author. Today, Schulz's works reach dizzying prices, as do the first editions of his books. Fate can be perverse.
Bruno Schulz (born July 12, 1892 in Drohobycz, died November 19, 1942 there) - Polish prose writer of Jewish origin, graphic artist, painter, illustrator and literary critic.
