Recently, we have taken up the topic of the first editions of Stanisław Lem's work.
Following this path, today we present the cult Solaris (Latin for sunny), i.e. the most famous novel by the author, translated into many languages, classified as a science fiction classic. The work is an account of mankind's unsuccessful contact with an alien form of intelligence. Over the years, there have been as many as 3 adaptations. Two of them were created in the USSR, in 1968, dir. Boris Nirenburg and in 1972, dir. Andrei Tarkovsky. Although today the most famous film adaptation is from 2002 [US], dir. Steven Soderbergh, with the brilliant roles of George Clooney and Natasha McElhone.
The work's readership is also evidenced by the fact that it has been published in over twenty Polish editions and translated into several dozen languages.
It was from there that the Author's worldwide fame began, who managed to create the most original vision of an Alien in the history of science fiction literature.
