This is a very important book about which you can write a lot. We will focus on its bibliophilic values.

Memoirs of K. L. Auschwitz issued by A. Girs as the third post-war publication of his publishing house.

A book dedicated to the 7th American Army that liberated the Dachau camp. The book "took a permanent place in documentary and memoirs; it was the subject of many years of press and scientific polemics and the object of a political boycott of emigration, which ended with the destruction of almost all of the circulation, which was influenced by, among others, Borowski's return to the country and his joining the PPR. The few preserved copies are valuable. " (A. Kłossowski "A. Girs - Book Artist", War. 1989).

The uniqueness of the book begins with the binding - part of the 10,000th edition is bound in "striped uniforms" from the original prison clothes (the presented copy has a cardboard binding), with a red triangle sewn on the face (denoting a political criminal in Oświęcim) and the letter "P" inscribed in it (Pole ) and the camp number of Janusz Nel Siedlecki. Barbed wire was threaded through the bindings of several copies, and one copy, the property of Anatol Girs, was bound in leather from an SS cloak.

The way of "stating" on the title page the names of three authors: Janusz Nel Siedlecki, Krystyn Olszewski and Tadeusz Borowski is also a strong expression, as they were preceded by Oświęcim numbers: 6643, 75 817, 118 198. Also the introduction from the publisher, Girs, was signed with his camp number : 191 250.

The title page was adorned with the signet ring of the Warsaw Outhouse, and on the post-title page there was a dedication: "The 7th American Army, which brought us liberation from the Dachau-Allach concentration camp, this work is devoted by the authors and the publisher".
