How do you briefly summarize this book?

A legend, one of the most important works of Polish literature, a classic, whatever you call it. Or to quote a seller from a well-known marketplace: "Absolute unique" [!].

The buyer of the book can boast that, quoting the Copernican Library, "he also has in his collection the world's first edition of" Pan Tadeusz ", which was published in 1834 in Paris."

There are many epithets, but what are the facts?

And what can be said about the rarity of Tadzio? Is it rare or not?

The first edition of "Pan Tadeusz" had a circulation of 3,000 copies, of which, according to various data, about 300 survived in Poland and around the world, 200 of which remained in the country. At least 2 copies appear on the widely understood antiquarian market in Poland every year, some of them have many lives and, for example, return to the market after conservation and binding.

Much rarer is the unique edition with hounds on the cover, which the poet did not like, so the publisher changed the illustration. The first edition of the epic in Poland is also rarer.

Of course, every bibliophile would like to have a first parsian edition from 1834. The book is not that rare, and yet it is not the cheapest one. On the other hand, is a dozen [maybe more] copies sold in a decade in a country of 40 million a lot?

Is the book valuable from the investor's point of view?

Recalling Tadzio's quotations from the beginning of the 21st century. its value increased several times.

It should also be mentioned about the record and high-profile internet auction, where Tadek was sold for (a trifle) 100,000. zloty.
