Second bibliophile auction of books and old prints.

The Antiquarian Bookstore Sobieski is pleased to inform you that the Second Auction of books and antique books organized with our participation will be held on 1.04.2018 - 14.04.2018 on the professional auction website OneBid, known to you from, among others, painting or handicraft auctions.

On the www.onebid.pl portal, you can place ilimity orders or participate in the online auction on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10.00.

You can also participate in the auction in a traditional way, by sending a written order by e-mail or by traditional mail no later than 24 hours. before the online bidding begins. The organizers are not responsible for the proper execution of written orders that came after this date.

According to the auction system, orders placed via the onebid.pl portal and by traditional mail will be taken into account during the auction and will immediately appear on the screen. The sum obtained in this way will constitute the starting price for the online auction, in the event of several orders for one item, the bidding will start from the penultimate limit increased by one increment.

The auction catalog included 348 items from 10 different fields. We tried to describe the condition of all auction objects very precisely. Each volume has been meticulously inspected and described.

The categories correspond to your current interests and needs.

In each of them there are several more expensive, more valuable and rarer books, but there are also small, pleasant trinkets. Everyone should find something for themselves.

Below is an overview of selected items:

Most of the above-mentioned items require no comment, they are classics. The catalog also includes the binding department of Witold Bartyzel, the master of bookbinding. Unfortunately, little can be said about the master himself and his biography. We were able to locate it on one of the photos of the Bookbinders' Guild in Krakow among other masters of the profession to cite the famous Robert Jahoda-Żółtowski, Piotr Grzywa or Ludwik Bażela, whose bindings themselves appear before the eyes after the name is quoted. Although we cannot say much about the master himself, his realizations are a decent so-called the old school of bindery in sewing, solid blocks, well-worked out, modest binding, although communing with them is pure pleasure. We hope you will share our feelings.
